Home Office Licensee Training: Rodents – Modules 1-4

The first module of this training course covers the legal and ethical approach to using rodents in research. Animal handling, recognizing animal health and well-being, Schedule 1, and health and safety are covered in the second module. Anaesthesia and analgesia, animal diseases and biology, the application of scientific procedures and husbandry complete the third module, and delegates may complete the assessment at this stage. For those who require a firmer grounding in anaesthetic techniques or who are planning to undertake invasive surgery, the fourth module provides the background and practical experience in these disciplines.
